Our Mission

Family of Faith is a Lay Catholic Apostolate, obedient to the Vicar of Christ, faithful to the eternal truths of Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to support the Magisterium, the teaching authority of the Catholic Church, through prayer, education and evangelization while providing a support group for all parishioners as we face the challenges of raising moral Catholic children and living our faith in a secular society.
We continue to commit ourselves to 'putting on the mind and heart of Jesus' through Christian formation and spiritual development which we are called to share in the mission of Jesus Christ.

Upcoming family of Faith dates at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth:
>>This Friday, April 24 – “Keeping Our Kids Catholic” – At times, it may seem impossible, but it can be done.
How often do we, as parents, ask ourselves how we can share our faith with young children, deal with adult children who leave the Church, instill Catholic morality in a totally secularized world, create a Catholic home atmosphere, and communicate a Catholic approach to the world?
Join us as Fr. Tim Whalen, Chancellor of Orchard Lake Schools, addresses us on these important issues. The talk begins at 7PM in the Social Hall. Optional buffet dinner available at 6PM for $10.

>>> Sunday, April 26 – Family Rosary at 6:15 PM (following the 5:00 Life Teen Mass) in the Day Chapel. Light refreshments available following.

>>> *Date Night for Married Couples! :-) *_

The OLGC Family of Faith Group will showing the movie "Fireproof" on Friday, May 1st from 7 PM to 9:00 PM in the OLGC social hall. Fireproof is a movie about a firefighter, his wife, and a marriage worth rescuing. In reality, every marriage matters, because marriage comes from the hand of God. God brings us together to love and support each other. Marriage is sacred and worth fighting for. Fireproof will offer hope to many couples in difficult marriages during these difficult economic times. The movie will also help couples that have grown complacent to renew their commitment. Spend a great evening with your spouse and gain valuable tools to help strengthen your marriage! There will be movie type snacks and beverages for you to enjoy while you watch the movie.

>>>Mother-Daughter Breakfast – Sunday, May 3 – 11:30Am-1:00PM - $6/person – OLGC Social Hall – Guest Speakers Ellen and Lauren Salter – Please RSVP to Mary Lockwood at Jomary913@aol.com by April 28.
